
Donna Bodensteiner
Donna Bodensteiner, 76, of West Union passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Methodist Hospital - Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Donna was born July 17, 1938 to Frank and Caroline (Karnik) Tupy at home in Fort Atkinson, Iowa.
She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1956.
She was united in marriage to Ron C. Bodensteiner on May 5, 1962 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Four children were born to this union.
The couple farmed near West Union for many years.
Donna worked as a bookkeeper for several business including, Morrison Implement in New Hampton and Concrete Materials in Cedar Rapids.
Donna was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union, where she served as the secretary. She was an active member of the church, including the Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters and Catholic Foresters.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing piano, and reading. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of West Union; children, Kevin (Brenda) Bodensteiner of Fairbank, Michele (Scott) Weinandt of West Bend, WI, and Kristin (Joe) Kriener of Ossian; eight grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn (John) Bodensteiner; two brothers, Joe (Bette) Tupy and Paul (Phyllis) Tupy; brother-in-law, Jim Kleve; sister-in-law, Pauline Tupy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donna was preceded in death by a son, Kyle; her parents; sister, Mary Kleve; and two brothers, Elmer Tupy and Norbert (Ellen) Tupy
In lieu of flowers, memorials made in Donna's name will be directed to a charity of the family's choice.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 am on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union.
Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, rural West Union.
A public visitation was held from from 3 pm until 7 pm on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Burnham-Wood & S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in West Union with a rosary service at 3 pm and scripture service at 7 pm.
A public visitation was also held one hour prior to service time at Burnham-Wood & S.K. Rogers Funeral Home.
Burnham-Wood & S.K. Rogers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
