
Kenneth Miner
Kenneth "Kenny" Gene Miner passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 9, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Fayette, Iowa.
Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery in Fayette, Iowa. Military honors will be provided by Fayette American Legion Post #339.
A public visitation was held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in Fayette, Iowa.
Kenny was born on August 28, 1936 on the family farm near Randalia, Iowa to Warren and Mildred (Voelker) Miner.
He graduated from Randalia High School in 1954.
Kenny was united in marriage to Carol Smale on May 24, 1959 at the United Methodist Church in Randalia, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.
Kenny proudly served his country in the United States Army from June 1959 until May 1961.
He worked for Pattison Brothers in Fayette and the Maynard Co-op as an agronomy fertilizer specialist. He also owned and operated a hog buying station, Miner Feed and Livestock.
Kenny was a member of Fayette United Methodist Church and Fayette Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed auctions, raising horses, bowling, and camping with his family. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Kenny is survived by three children, Guy (Sheryl) Miner of Castalia, Wade (Bonnie) Miner of Havelock, North Carolina, and Carmen Miner of West Des Moines; 8 grandchildren, Seth (Jennifer) Miner, Cody Miner, Tanner (Kira) Miner, Cory (Stacy) Miner, Casie (Phillip) Eichenberger, Christa (Isaac Jacobson) Miner, April (Ryan) Constans and Danielle Miner; 6 great-grandchildren, Evelyn Pruitt, Nolan Constans, Brooks Miner, Cameron Jacobs, Kaitlyn Miner, and Regan Miner, and; a daughter-in-law, Eleanor (Jim Hageman) Miner-Hageman; two brothers, Joe (Gladys) Miner and Gerald (Carol) Miner; a sister, Shirley (Chuck) Hegeseth; two sisters-in-law, Donna Amfar and Marilyn Miner; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; parents; son, Brooks; siblings, Bob Miner, Dewey Miner, and Barb (Gordon) Lauer; and a nephew, Dion Hegseth.
