
Harry Stolle
Harry Stolle, 93, of West Union, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Stoney Brook Village, West Union, Iowa.
Harry Stolle was born on October 22, 1921 to Harry Sr. and Genevieve (Gunderson) Stolle in West Union, Iowa.
Harry was baptized and confirmed at West Clermont Lutheran Church.
He graduated from West Union High School in 1939.
On November 18, 1943 Harry was united in marriage with Myra O. Olson at West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont, Iowa.
Harry served in the United States Coast Guard in the Pacific and Okinawa area during World War II.
After returning from the war, he and Myra farmed the Stolle Farm near West Union for fifty years. Harry also co-owned, with Elmer Olson, the Clermont John Deere Implement business during the late 1950’s.
In September 1992, he and Myra moved to Platte City, Missouri.
Harry returned to West Union in 2006 after Myra passed away.
Harry served on the Federal Land Bank and was a lifetime member of the American Legion West Union Post. He enjoyed traveling and especially cruising with his family, ice fishing and raising beef cattle.
Harry is survived by his four daughters, Judy Graf and husband Rod, Jan Simoens and husband, Brad, Jewel Biermann and husband, Dan, Julie Wright and husband, Terry; Papa’s four grandchildren, Amy Davis, Evan Davis and wife, Bree, J.D. Biermann and wife, Melissa, and Chelsie Biermann; great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Landon Biermann and Harrison and Myra Rose Davis; sisters, Helen Trapp, Betty Rose and Marilyn (Michael) Miller; sister-in-law, Bertha Olson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Myra, and parents, Harry and Genevieve Stolle.
Visitation was held Friday, October 16, 2015 from 4-7 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral Services were at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa with Rev. Stacey Nalean-Carlson as the Officiant.
Burial followed at West Union Cemetery, West Union, with Military Honors.
Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont helped the family with arrangements.
