Ruberta Paul

Ruberta E. Paul, 95, of Fayette died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Sumner, Iowa. 

Funeral services will be held at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. 

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 19).

Ruberta Ellen, daughter of Arthur and Hazel  (Fritz) Helmer, was born Feb. 11, 1923. 

She graduated from Fayette High School in 1940.

She worked as a secretary at the Farm Bureau and ASCS office. 

On Feb. 27, 1945 she was united in marriage with Arnold Paul, and to this union one son was born. They lived and farmed near Fayette their whole life and then moved to town in 1985.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Ruberta is survived by her son, Ray (Eunice) Paul of Independence, IA; three granddaughters, Angie (Steve) Harkin of Marion, IA; Stacy (Blake) Robinson of Cedar Falls, IA; Heidi (Cory) Evans of Independence, IA; and seven great-grandchildren, Brennon Harkin, Abbie Harkin and Megan Harkin, Drew Evans and Nathan Evans, Aubrey Robinson and Luke Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arnold.
